About Honda Marine Outboard Motors

A full selection of marine outboard motors is marketed by Honda Marine, a division of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. Only four-stroke engines are used to power its extensive product line. For over 50 years, Honda has been designing and manufacturing four-stroke outboard engines, setting the standard for fuel efficiency, quiet operation, and low emissions. Honda was a four-stroke engine technology pioneer.

All Honda outboard motors steadily produce high charging outputs, assisting you in propulsion for all of your waterborne activities and gear.

Some outboard motor manufacturers only promote the total output of the alternator. Honda gauges alternator performance at ambient conditions. Consequently, you are fully aware of the power available on board. Honda also promotes charging amps and total amps. The total amps minus the required amps for the ignition are the charging amps.

Honda Marine Outboard Motors: FeaturesĀ

4-Front Corrosion Protect

Honda’s proprietary 4-Front corrosion paint process fortifies the engine’s defense against the outside world. This dual-sealed, multi-layered process aids in maintaining the appearance and functionality of your engine.

They use the patented “Double Seal” process to anodize the aluminum casing. The shiny silver paint is then applied after an epoxy primer. Afterwards, they topcoat with a clear resin for additional UV protection. Additionally, a sacrificial anode is installed, and all connectors are waterproof for efficiency.

Boosted Low-Speed Torque(Blast)

BLAST is a cutting-edge “air-fuel ratio linked ignition timing control” created to enhance low-speed acceleration.

To prevent knock, BLAST increases the air/fuel ratio while advancing the ignition timing to its optimum during rapid acceleration. The result is significantly more torque and excellent holeshot performance to accelerate the hull onto the plane.

VTEC Racing Technology

VTEC signifies the Variable Valve Timing & Lift Electronic Control system. It’s a great system that delivers the best, offering smooth and stable idling. VTEC provides a quality combination of increased torque, power and fuel efficiency at every speed.

Lean Burn Control

The Lean Burn Control technology (ECOmo) from Honda maximizes fuel economy by modifying the air/fuel ratio in conformance with speed and load. consuming less fuel than spark ignition two-stroke and rival four-stroke models by a significant margin. Performance is at the top of its class.

Multi-Port Programmed Fuel Injection

Honda Multi-Port Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) provides each cylinder with the exact amount of air and fuel at all speed ranges and conditions. As a result, there are several advantages, such as quick starts, immediate throttle response, stunning performance, and reduced emissions.

Rear Mounted Flywheel

The brand uses innovative design elements that place the flywheel close to the base of the powerhead, coupled with the application of linear rubber mounts which guarantee that vibration levels are incredibly low, improve handling, and give decent boat maneuverability.

Knock And Oxygen Sensors

The Knock and oxygen sensors offer adequate flow and ignition curves which lead to improved fuel efficiency and engine performance.

Trolling Control

Trolling Control is perfect for fishing and low-speed maneuvers because it offers accurate control at reduced speeds. Engine speed can be adjusted on some Honda outboard motors in intervals of 50 RPM from idle to 1000 or 1100 RPM, depending on the model.

Auto Idle Charge

When the outboard is not in use, the Adjustable Idle Charge system detects an increased electrical load. As such, the system automatically modifies the engine speed to improve the charging rate. This process helps avoid unnecessary battery drain which assures you when fishing kilometers offshore.

The Adjustable Idle Charge is perfect when accessories such as Lighting Stereo, Live Wells, GPS, Trolling Motors andĀ  Sonar are all operating at the same time.
